I would look to trade the pick to Canucks for Tanev.

lol. always the tanev talk. I think Sandin might be one of the biggest jumpers in the draft this year. could see him go in the early to mid teens.

now, the NYI have 2 1st and need a dman.....

Get thew best player available, either by drafting one or using the pick to trade for more offense.

Good try, but no thanks. We will keep out top pairing D-men and you can try and find your own.

Your GM got the current Blues GM at the time to trade down Logan Couture San Jose and used those picks to take if I remember right, Lars Eller and what was that second rounder who barely ever played in the NHL? So trading down does not work well especially when you over draft players like Ian Cole and miss out on players like I don't know PK Subban. If you are so smart at drafting and you want to prove it to people how do you pick Cole over Subban? That's not all because the sheer amount of misses with all the picks he had that year is astounding. Perhaps his best pick that year was one of his later first round picks on Perron.

It seems hard to blame the current CBJ GM for picks and trades the St. Louis GM made. JK was not the only person in the draft room with an opinion and a vote on making the draft picks and trades that were made. And if he was the person responsible for selling the GM of the Blues to do those things, so what? You win some, you lose some, nobody is perfect.

After all the years of failure by previous CBJ GM's the current GM has done a great job getting players for the team. For example: Is there anyone out there who still thinks it was a mistake drafting Pierre-Luc Dubois instead of Jesse Puljujarvi, a move almost universally panned by everyone at the draft?
